Do you spend a significant amount of time behind the wheel? Do you have a long commute followed by running your kids to school events? Or, do you have employees that complain of back pain because they sit in the car/truck for most of their day? Take a few simple actions to ensure safe, healthy driving habits.
Healthy Back Driving Habits
1. Adjust the seat. Take the time to adjust your seat to fit you. Adjust the height, the distance and the backrest angle. Some vehicles have an inflatable lumbar cushion to adjust for your comfort.

2. Change your posture. Remember to move around in your seat to alleviate postural fatigue. Pull your belly button in towards your spine and maintain neutral posture. Now would also be a great time to review neutral posture for any application. Watch as Angie and I demonstrate:
3. Take breaks. Avoid back pain and fatigue by taking frequent breaks that allow you to stand, stretch and move around.
